Job Summary and Qualifications

Implements therapeutic programming and treatments for assigned patients.

2. Chair programming committee for treatment program(s).

3. Establishes goals and objectives for assigned groups.

4. Conducts a minimal of four groups daily and provides notes after each group.

5. Evaluates assigned groups on a regular basis.

6. Functions as a member of the treatment team.

7. Completes activity assessments, group notes, care plan reviews, patient education notes and progress notes for assigned patients.

8. Participates in treatment planning, case reviews and physician rounds.

9. Administers patient care in a safe and effective manner.

10. Responds to all emergency calls.

11. Maintains patient confidentiality.

12. Maintains supplies.

13. Provides field instruction and supervision for recreation or music therapy student interns.

14. Researches evidence based programming techniques to be shared and utilized by treatment team.

15. Provides behavioral health education to community agencies, facilities and referral sources.

16. Participates in hospital wide committees as needed.

What qualifications you will need:

• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Bachelors Degree
• (CTRS) Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist, or (MT-BC) Music Therapy Board Certification, or (ATR) Registered Art Therapist must be obtained within 2 years of employment start date
