Job Profile Summary: - Will hold clinic at Minneapolis Surgical Specialists (on ANW campus) ~2x/month - Will operate at Abbott Northwestern Hospital - Patient load ~20-35 patients on the census / day, which usually works out to rounding on 5-12 patients / day (more on the weekends). - Rotate between primary (day time), back up (daytime), and night call acute care surgeon - 10 hour day shifts, 14 hour night shifts, 12 hour weekend shifts - 190 shifts/year for 1.0 FTE - Call: approx. 4 weeknight q5 weeks, ~1 in 5 weekends - Option to participate in activation call models at regional sites, this is not traditional call but rather seeing consults and doing cases as needed - Participate in hospital and system wide committees - Resident and student education - Option for research if interested

Job Description:

Principle Responsibilities

• Responsibilities include clinic, hospital rounding & OR

• Position will see patients at our Edina & Minneapolis clinics, operate at Abbott Northwestern Hospital & ambulatory surgery center (site TBD).

• Works collaboratively with patients to improve their health and well-being.

• Practices in a thoughtful manner including consideration for cultural diversity, individual autonomy and legal responsibilities.

• Actively participates in multidisciplinary team approach to case management.

• Utilizes quality improvement tools to develop processes that promote continuous improvement in delivery of patient care, patient outcomes, or workflows.

Job Requirements

• Doctoral/Ph.D. level advanced degree in Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine or foreign equivalent from an approved school of medicine required and

• Completion of an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA) accredited Residency training program and/or fellowship in General Surgery required

• Licensed Physician - MN Board of Medical Practice required if working in MN upon hire and

• ACLS-BLS Tier 3 - Multisource required depending on business unit within 180 Days

Allina-employed surgeons may have an opportunity to purchase an ownership interest in Allina Health Surgery Center Partners, LLC, providing these surgeon investors with an indirect ownership interest in, and the right to receive financial returns from, Allina Health ambulatory surgery centers.

Pay Range:

Pay Range: $422,100 to $492,500 per year

The pay described reflects the starting base pay range, assuming a full-time FTE. Your starting rate will depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable).
