Job Summary
We are seeking one dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse for our Acute Care unit, possible float to the critical care. The ideal candidates will possess a strong background in critical care/intensive care and demonstrate exceptional patient care skills. This role involves working in a fast-paced environment, providing comprehensive nursing care to patients with acute medical conditions. The Registered Nurse will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and maintain high standards of care. This is a DAYS 13-week position only serious candidates apply.
Duties
- Provide direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing interventions for patients in acute settings.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Monitor and document vital signs, patient status, and responses to treatments in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Perform procedures such as IV insertion, catheterization, suturing, and airway management as required.
- Assist with diagnostic evaluations and laboratory specimen collection/processing.
- Educate patients and families on health management, medication administration, and post-discharge care.
- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and maintain a safe environment for patients.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to NCQA standards.
Experience
Candidates should have experience in the following areas:
- Acute care nursing within a Level I or Level II trauma center setting.
- Critical care experience (ICU or PICU) is preferred.
- Familiarity with EMR systems such as Epic or Cerner for medical documentation.
- Experience with various medical specialties including but not limited to emergency medicine, internal medicine, geriatrics, pediatrics, hospice & palliative medicine, and behavioral health.
- Proficiency in performing advanced nursing skills such as dialysis management, pain management techniques, ventilator care, and acute pain management strategies.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9 & ICD-10), CPT coding, and workers' compensation law is advantageous.
