Adjunct Faculty - Architecture - College of Arts and Creative Enterprises - Dubai and Abu Dhabi Campuses (immediate start)

The Opportunity

The College of Arts and Creative Enterprises seeks qualified candidates to teach as adjuncts in positions which are opening in the Architecture / Interior Design Programs. These position(s) will be based at the Abu Dhabi or Dubai campus, with appointments beginning in August 2026.

It is anticipated that the successful candidate/s will make a valuable contribution to the development of the program in the College through forging strong relationships and liaising with the local industry, as well as support an integrated approach of the curriculum. The candidate/s will encourage students to consider their future careers within a local, regional and international context and ensure that they are equipped with the necessary tools and knowledge to take up this challenge.

About the College

The College of Arts and Creative Enterprises offers a professional degree Bachelor of Architecture. It also offers Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree with majors in Animation Design, Graphic Design, Interior Design, and Visual Art, a Bachelor of Science degree in Multimedia Design with the College of Communication and Media Sciences and the College of Technological Innovation.

The College of Arts and Creative Enterprises aims to prepare students to become creative leaders in the arts and related industries. The mission is to provide student artists and designers with an opportunity to explore and develop their own creative ideas while contributing to national initiatives in the culture of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Candidates will have the opportunity to contribute to the growth and initiatives of the college that will advocate innovative practices and research.

The Bachelor of Architecture

The Bachelor of Architecture degree is envisioned as the first-of-its-kind 5-year professional degree, focused specifically on the design of built environments in the Arabian Gulf region and similar desertic environments. This professional B.Arch. program is unique to the region, contextually grounded and directly responsive to both the environmental and socioeconomic characteristics of the region, particularly the UAE. Its mission is to promote the understanding of this regional context within a global perspective. The three areas of focus are Desert Architecture, UAE Progressive Urbanization, and Arab Architecture Heritage , which respond to the below-mentioned considerations:

A. Sustainable design for hot and arid desert climate

B. Responsible design for rapid urban growth

C: Historical/social understanding of architecture in the Arab world in relation to the global context.

Qualifications

• The applicant must have earned a terminal degree in the relevant field (Ph.D /March) that is, or can be recognized by the UAE Ministry of Education..
• The applicant must have a record of excellent teaching and/or professional trajectory in the field and in alignment to the Programs’ vision
• Candidates need to have specific academic or professional experience to be able to teach one or more of the following subjects:

o Structure I and II

o Environmental Control System I and II

o Materials and Methods of Construction I and II

o Project Management (building construction)

o History and Theory of Architecture

o Urbanism (Middle East)

• Substantial level of computer literacy and a good proficiency of usage of IT in education.
• Understanding of the local and regional context within a global framework, with reference to pedagogy
• Candidates with teaching, research or professional experience in the local and regional context, culture and built environment are preferred.
• Classes will be taught in person, and the selected candidates must be in the UAE and have a valid UAE visa (the position will not provide sponsorship). Applicants are responsible for securing and maintaining their own visa status. Please note that remote teaching opportunities are not available for these roles.
