Position Summary
The Installation Adjustment Technician is a key member of the Site Project Management Team, responsible for the installation, commissioning, and adjustment of AMHS equipment at customer facilities. This role includes overseeing system start-up from initial power application through final acceptance testing, ensuring projects meet company and customer standards for safety, quality, and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Adhere to all company safety protocols and report unsafe conditions.
- Perform equipment installation, adjustment, and routine maintenance.
- Install and verify software, following established procedures and release documentation.
- Conduct system log analysis to identify and resolve hardware or software issues.
- Provide technical training to customer and internal technicians on operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and installation.
- Write, edit, and update technical procedures within scope of responsibility.
- Troubleshoot and resolve both hardware and software issues independently.
- Collaborate effectively with multi-national, multi-language teams and act as a liaison between customers and engineering teams.
- Prepare and submit daily installation logs, status reports, and related documentation.
- Attend on-site project meetings and communicate updates to the Site Manager.
- Recommend technical solutions to engineering teams for product improvements.
- Ensure detailed records and checklists are maintained for all completed work.
- Travel extensively (domestic and international) on short notice for project support.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of electrical diagnostic instruments and hand/shop tools.
- Proficiency with digital voltmeters and oscilloscopes.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints.
- Solid troubleshooting skills for electromechanical devices.
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Windows).
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Flexible, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain necessary travel documents.
- Strong presentation skills.
- Japanese and English bilingual is preferred.
Education & Experience
- Associate degree in a related field or engineering discipline preferred.
- Technical school or military certification accepted.
- 0–2 years of field service experience in the semiconductor or related industry (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
Additional Requirements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (or language of employment country).
- Strong mathematical and analytical reasoning abilities.
- Willingness to travel more than 80% of the time, including extended assignments (3+ months) at customer sites.
- Ability to meet physical demands, including standing, climbing ladders, lifting up to 50 lbs., and working in active construction environments.
Work Environment
- Moderate noise levels typical of active construction and installation sites.
- Work performed at customer facilities in both domestic and international locations.
