Job Summary

The Administrative Analyst role is a hybrid position, with responsibilities split approximately 50% administrative support and 50% transmission analysis support . This individual will provide high-level administrative assistance while also contributing analytical expertise to support substation project cost monitoring, vendor oversight, and compliance reporting.

Administrative Responsibilities (50%)

  • Provide professional, responsive administrative support to project managers and staff.

  • Communicate and coordinate effectively with Compliance, HR, and other internal stakeholders.

  • Ensure adherence to Southern Company administrative, accounting, and compliance procedures.

  • Manage office functions including maintaining supplies, coordinating meetings/events, arranging travel, and supporting office relocations.

  • Create and track project correspondence, reports, and records.

  • Perform ad hoc administrative assignments as directed.

Transmission Analyst Responsibilities (50%)

  • Gather and analyze contractor cost data, spending patterns, and vendor invoices.

  • Audit invoices for accuracy, compliance with contract terms, and adherence to project scopes.

  • Develop metrics and management reports to support informed decision-making.

  • Participate in the CAMP Steering Committee , providing system recommendations and training new users.

  • Support substation engineering leadership by monitoring contractor spend, project budgets, and authorization limits.

  • Respond to data requests, support process improvements, and implement best practices.

  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders including PMO, Finance, IT, and contractor firms.

  • Assist with storm restoration duties as needed.

Qualifications

Education

  • Required:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field OR

    • Associate’s degree in Business/Finance/Economics + 2 years relevant experience OR

    • Associate’s degree in another field + 4 years relevant experience

Experience

  • Previous accounting, finance, or business administration experience preferred.

  • Experience with Enterprise Solutions systems (MAXIMO, Oracle Financials, PowerPlant, SAP) is desirable.

  • Familiarity with CAMP, Oracle, iExpense, MOBI preferred.

  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel pivot tables, Word, PowerPoint).

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Access and Power BI is a plus.

  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to multi-task and manage shifting priorities in a dynamic environment.

  • Proficiency in compiling, consolidating, and presenting information from multiple sources.

  • Effective oral and written communication with stakeholders at all levels, including upper management.

  • Sound business judgment with proactive communication regarding contracts and invoicing.

  • Team player with initiative, ownership, and strategic thinking skills.
