Our client is a mission-driven nonprofit organization in New York City seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Administrative Assistant to join their team. This organization is dedicated to supporting community programs and delivering impactful services, and they are looking for someone who can bring strong administrative skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude to their office.

Position Overview

The Administrative Assistant will provide day-to-day support to staff and leadership, ensuring smooth office operations and helping the organization deliver on its mission. This individual must be highly organized, professional, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a nonprofit environment.

Responsibilities Of The Administrative Assistant

  • Provide administrative support to leadership and program teams.
  • Manage calendars, schedule meetings, and coordinate events.
  • Handle correspondence, prepare documents, and maintain filing systems.
  • Assist with data entry, tracking, and reporting for programs or donors.
  • Support office operations, including ordering supplies and coordinating vendors.
  • Greet visitors and help maintain a welcoming office environment.
  • Jump in to assist with special projects, events, and community initiatives as needed.

Required Experience/Skills for the Administrative Assistant:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as an Administrative Assistant or in a similar support role.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and/or Google Workspace.
  • Professional, reliable, and collaborative work style.

Preferred Experience/Skills for the Administrative Assistant:

  • Previous experience working in a nonprofit or mission-driven organization.
  • Comfort working with databases or donor management systems.

Education Requirements:

  • High school diploma required.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
