Full-Time | Hybrid in DC


Our nonprofit client in Washington, DC is seeking a proactive and detail‑oriented Administrative Assistant to support daily office operations on a temporary basis. The ideal candidate brings strong communication skills, a polished and friendly demeanor, and the ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, mission‑driven environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Greet guests, answer phones, and direct inquiries to the appropriate staff members.
  • Provide general administrative assistance to organizational leadership, including scheduling, drafting correspondence, preparing documents, and managing calendars.
  • Support the drafting and distribution of internal communications and meeting materials.
  • Help maintain office supplies, equipment, and inventory; submit facilities requests when needed.
  • Support daily office operations and serve as a resource for staff on basic administrative processes.
  • Assist with data tracking or basic reporting needs, as assigned.
  • Assist with planning and execution of internal meetings, board activities, staff gatherings, and special events.
  • Coordinate room reservations, meeting setup/breakdown, catering needs, and event logistics.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree preferred
  • Internship or other administrative experience, preferably in a nonprofit or mission‑driven environment.
  • Strong customer‑service orientation with exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with scheduling tools, SharePoint, or CRM systems is a plus.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities with professionalism and poise.
  • Collaborative team player with a proactive, solutions‑focused mindset.
