Administrative Assistant

The Altoona Area Public Library is currently seeking a full-time Administrative Assistant. This position provides critical assistance to the Executive Director, Business Manager, and other library staff by providing administrative support and ensuring efficient operation of the business office.

A high proficiency in skills including communication, bookkeeping, payroll, grant management, scheduling, customer service, and technology is required. Candidates should excel at time management, Google Suite and Microsoft Office. Knowledge of QuickBooks and E-rate are desirable.

Position generally works 8:30am – 5pm Monday through Friday, and includes paid holidays, generous vacation days, sick days, health insurance including dental and vision at no cost to the employee, and a retirement plan.

Minimum qualifications:

Associates Degree in Business or equivalent

2 years working in a business office

A current driver’s license and the ability to obtain the Child Abuse Clearance, Criminal Record Check, and FBI Fingerprint Clearance is mandatory.

Entry level salary starting at $31,000.00
