Job Title: Administrative Assistant (Part-Time, Contract)

Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid)

Duration: Through August 2026 (with potential extension)

Compensation: $30/hour

Schedule: 15–20 hours per week (flexible within standard business hours)


About the Role

A public sector organization is seeking a detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to support procurement and contract oversight functions. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with structured processes, compliance-driven environments, and detailed documentation.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support for procurement and contract-related activities, including reviewing and organizing contract data in accordance with established policies and procedures
  • Research and compile information on procurement-related topics (e.g., regulatory updates, legal notices), and prepare concise written summaries using standardized templates
  • Maintain and organize electronic records, including contracts, purchase orders, and supporting documentation, ensuring accuracy and consistency
  • Track key deadlines and compliance requirements (e.g., contract expirations, vendor verifications) and ensure timely follow-up
  • Assist with public information requests by gathering, organizing, and preparing responsive documents in accordance with established guidelines
  • Support documentation and reporting processes, including data entry, validation, and quality control checks
  • Contribute to updates of internal procedures, checklists, and guidance materials to improve clarity and compliance
  • Work independently within established guidelines, escalating more complex issues as needed


Qualifications

  • Experience supporting contracts, procurement, or administrative operations
  • Strong written communication skills, with the ability to summarize complex information clearly and concisely
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and document management
  • Experience with calendaring, deadline tracking, and administrative coordination
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a structured environment
