Overview
Temple Beth David seeks a dedicated, motivated and engaging individual to join our team. The Administrative Assistant works closely with staff, clergy, educators, and volunteers to support the functions of daily synagogue life, with a high regard for detail and quality. Responsibilities include office administration, programming and communications support.
Core Responsibilities
- Assist with day-to-day operation of the temple including: organizing office supplies and monitor inventory, greet people, answer the phone, make copies, manage mail and filing, help create a welcoming environment.
- Provide administrative support to staff and clergy.
- Provide administrative support for our vibrant youth education programs including our Shalom Corner preschool and our K-12 religious school.
- Help update the calendar, website, and marketing materials.
- Support sign-ups, registrations for events, and payments.
- Assist with preparing weekly email messages.
- Provide logistical support for services, holidays, and lifecycles.
- Maintain and update the synagogue database.
- Support financial functions including check deposits and billing statements.
- Prepare donation acknowledgements and thank you letters.

- A hands-on team player who brings enthusiasm, openness, and a strong work ethic
- A self-starter and finisher with the ability to meet deadlines; ability to work independently and as part of a team
NEED TO HAVE’S
- Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong computer skills are essential, especially with Google Workspace
- Familiarity with data management software (we use ShulCloud)
- Administrative experience
- Comfortability working in a synagogue environment
NICE TO HAVE’S
- Previous office administrative experience
- Experience in a school office setting
- Proficient in ShulCloud (synagogue management software)
Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
