This position is located in the Baton Rouge Region Child Welfare department in Baton Rouge, LA.
This position serves as the personal and confidential Administrative Assistant to the DCFS Child Welfare Attorney Supervisor for the Baton Rouge Region. The selected candidate will perform a variety of administrative functions.

Three years of experience in administrative services.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 15 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as six months of experience.

Job Duties:

Collects and prepares monthly reports such as Monthly Activity Reports as requested by Attorney Supervisor.

Develop and maintain a tracking/monitoring system for the timely submission of reports and documents.

Create and maintain a database of open and closed files.

Complete legal documents which include, but are not limited to, trial briefs, motions, answers, memoranda, petitions, judgements, legal opinions, Civil Service appeals, and general correspondence.

Provide direct secretarial support to the Attorney Supervisor and Attorney 3's house in the Baton Rouge offices.

Receive, review, prioritize, and date stamp incoming mail, subpoenas, etc. received by DCFS mailroom, UPS, etc. in the Baton Rouge Office for Bureau of General Counsel.

Performs related duties as assigned.
Position-Specific Details:Appointment Type: This position may be filled as a probational appointment or a job appointment that may last up to 48 months. Job appointments may convert to probational appointments. Also, it may be filled as a detail and promoted within 12 months or by promotion of a permanent classified employee.
Work Schedule: Typically, work hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday – Friday. Flexible work schedules are available after meeting certain criteria and is dependent upon the position you are applying for. Some positions require working shifts.
