Position Summary

The Division of Radiological Sciences in the Department of Radiology is seeking a primary administrative and operational support specialist to the Senior Vice Chair of the division. This highly visible and dynamic role is designed for an experienced, proactive, and efficient-minded administrator who can function with a high degree of independence, judgement, and discretion.

The position will oversee a broad portfolio related directly to the division chief that includes executive-level communications, event and initiative management, faculty and stakeholder coordination, division operations, strategic planning support, program development, immigration compliance, and research program administration.

This role will devote approximately 80% effort to support the division chief directly and 20% to general Radiological Sciences division administrative activities.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assists the Senior Vice Chair of Radiological Sciences with all administrative details including calendar, meetings, travel, dictation, etc., often of a confidential nature.

  • Anticipates and prepares materials needed by the Vice Chair and entire Division of Radiological Sciences for conferences, meetings, appointments, telephone calls and/or emails. This includes weekly, monthly, and annual meetings, research seminars, and research symposia.

  • Immigration compliance, including visas, etc., related to research faculty

  • Provides support related to faculty recruitment and promotions and works with appropriate personnel to prepare associated paperwork and other requirements.

  • Manages day-to-day division chief administrative tasks.

  • Facilitates coordination of various programs and new Radiological Sciences initiatives.

  • Prepares special reports, summaries, or replies to inquiries.

  • Monitors and verifies expenditures for specific activities.

  • May assist with budgetary needs and related projects.

  • May supervise purchasing function and event planning.

  • May supervise and coordinate the work of designated employees.

  • May coordinate various aspects of grant work.

  • May coordinate space projects and planning.

Salary Range

$21.17 - $32.85 / Hourly

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
