Position and Salary
The Attorney General’s Office is recruiting for a permanent full-time Administrative Operations Manager (WMS Band 1) for our Torts Division. This position is located in Seattle, Washington and is not union-represented.
This position is set as a Band 1 in the Washington Management Services structure. The salary range for this position is $88,800 - $106,543 annually.
The base pay offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the preferred candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Position Description
The Administrative Operations Manager manages all administrative functions of the Seattle and Tacoma locations of the Torts Division, in partnership with the Division Chief (DC) and all members of the Management Team, and be responsible for running this diverse legal office from top to bottom.

About the Torts Division
The Torts Division seeks an Administrative Operations Manager for its division locations in Seattle and Tacoma. The Torts Division is comprised of 64 attorneys and 134 professional staff between the four locations of the division (Olympia; Seattle; Tacoma; Spokane). We value collaboration and teamwork, diversity, flexibility, transparency, and collegiality. The Torts Division defends tort claims and lawsuits against all state agencies, officers, and employees. The majority of cases are based on actions brought under theories of liability for state actions such as highway design, release of inmates, injuries on state property, medical malpractice, employment, childcare and custody, auto accidents, and maritime injuries. Torts’ attorneys also provide legal and risk management advice to the Department of Enterprise Services, Office of Risk Management, and state agencies on tort matters.
