This role provides essential administrative and operational support for our shelter and pantry programs. The Administrative & Program Support Specialist helps ensure daily tasks run smoothly while also serving as a knowledgeable backup for key staff when needed.
Pay: $16 per hour
Hours: 15-20 hours per week
Schedule: Typically 5-7 hours three days per week. Exact hours may be adjusted as organizational needs develop.
Main Responsibilities
· Perform administrative tasks such as processing mail, organizing files and storage, data entry, and coordinating contractors and visitors.
· Serve as backup to the Pantry Director and Shelter Support Staff, ensuring continuity of operations when they are unavailable.
· Recruiting, coordinating, and providing direction to volunteers.
· Support other administrative or program needs as assigned.
Qualifications
· Strong organizational and computer skills (Microsoft Office, email, data entry, various software).
· Ability to interact professionally with volunteers, clients, and contractors.
· Reliability and flexibility to adapt to changing needs.
· Previous experience in administration or nonprofit work preferred, but not required.
· Requires the physical ability to stand, bend, reach, and lift or move boxes and other materials weighing up to 40 pounds throughout the work shift.
Reports to: Executive Director
Works Closely With: Pantry Director and Housing Director, who may also provide direction and assign tasks.
