Position Summary

Works under the general direction of a manager or administrator to be responsible for maintaining operational activities and various designated administrative duties with a high level of confidentiality for the Criminal Court Clerk’s Office.



Minimum Qualifications

1. Three (3) years of experience in a lead or supervisory capacity; and

2. Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in public or business administration, criminal justice, or related field; OR

3. An equivalent combination of related education and/or experience.

4. Experience working in a court related environment preferred.

5. PROOF OF EDUCATION, TRAINING AND/OR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED.



Duties and Responsibilities

1. Analyzes and interprets court documents/orders as related to Criminal Court Clerk’s records and files.

2. Assures the productivity of assigned staff is adequately maintained.

3. Serves as a liaison for the Criminal Court Clerk/Criminal Court Judges with the Shelby County Purchasing and Finance Departments and vendors, and answers inquiries and disseminates general or specific information as required or directed.

4. Prepares travel arrangements and reimbursements for staff.

5. Assists in preparation of the annual Criminal Court Clerk’s budget.

6. Conducts detailed research regarding matters of special interest if the Criminal Court Clerk’s Office.

7. Performs other related duties as required or directed.

1. Ability to plan, organize, and maintain an even flow of work.

2. Knowledge of supervisory practices and techniques.

3. Ability to deal courteously with co-workers, other community departments/offices and the public.

4. Ability to prepare composite reports.

5. Ability to use a personal computer.

6. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

7. Knowledge of organization, financial (including budgeting, accounting, and auditing), purchasing or personnel management techniques.

8. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
