DEFINITION:
The Admissions Director is responsible for meeting the customer development objectives of the facility and for directing the admission/marketing process.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

- Regular, punctual attendance.
- Knowledge of and implementing the facilities admissions policies under the direction of the facility Administrator.
- Responsible for handling all inquiries regarding placement to the facility, giving tours and directing the overall admission process. Ensure that responses to inquires are handled properly, timely and appropriate follow-up. Meet with the Director of Nurses and / or Administrator to have inquiries approved prior to acceptance.
- Directs the completion of appropriate admission papers and obtain signatures from residents or responsible parties. Inputs/updates face sheets for all residents, as applicable. Provides door names and ensures residents names are on the correct door. Communicate special needs of new admits to staff to ensure a smooth transition.
- Verifies that the room is prepared and ready for the new resident.
- Have daily knowledge of customer base status, including quality mix, with the ability to articulate concerns and recommendations to appropriate staff.
- Weekly marketing in the community to the hospital and / or Doctor’s offices to maintain a working relationship with the community and to relay bed availability.
- Maintain a working knowledge of federal and state regulation, as related to the position and reimbursement. Provide assistance with new employee orientation on these topics and the admission process.
- Coordinates and maintains all paperwork that is sent to billing at month end. Ie: Billing face sheet, Face Sheet, Prior stay, Insurance cards, Medicare eligibility, HMO eligibility and copayments (when applicable), Hospital face sheet.
- Develop and maintain relationships with the hospital discharge planners, senior organizations, medical professionals, and other community contacts to advise them of bed availability.
