Summary:

The Admissions Officer plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient admission of patients to the medical complex. This role involves verifying patient information, managing room allocations, ensuring compliance with hospital policies and Saudi health regulations, and providing excellent customer service. Admissions Officers act as a point of contact for patients and their families, requiring strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.


Key Responsibilities:


Patient Intake:

  • Interview patients and families to collect personal, medical, and financial information, as necessary.
  • Explain admission criteria and ensure documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Obtain necessary patient consents in line with hospital policies and Ministry of Health regulations.

Bed & Room Management:

  • Confirm room availability and assign beds according to patient needs and hospital policy.
  • Coordinate with inpatient staff regarding room assignments and ensure patients are informed of room rates and admission requirements.

Information & Records Management:

  • Enter patient information into the hospital’s electronic system accurately.
  • Maintain and update records while ensuring confidentiality of patient data.
  • Prepare daily and periodic admission reports for management.

Financial & Insurance Verification:

  • Verify medical insurance coverage and obtain required third-party approvals.
  • Inform patients and families of financial responsibilities, including room charges and treatment plans.

Coordination & Communication:

  • Liaise with physicians, nurses, and other departments to ensure seamless admission and transfer of patients.
  • Respond to inquiries from patients, families, and visitors regarding services, waiting lists, and admission requirements.
  • Resolve patient and family concerns with professionalism and empathy.

Compliance & Quality:

  • Adhere to medical complex policies, procedures, and Saudi Ministry of Health regulations.
  • Support person-centered care initiatives and promote patient dignity, respect, and compassion.
  • Ensure confidentiality and protect the medical complex's reputation in all interactions.


Qualifications:

Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, or a related field.


Experience:

Minimum 2 years of experience in healthcare admissions or administrative roles.
