Cornerstone Healing Center is searching for an Admissions Specialist to join the team!

Position Summary:

The Admissions Specialist serves as the first point of contact for individuals and families seeking substance use and mental health treatment. This role is critical to both the client experience and census growth. Admissions Specialists manage high-volume calls, assess clinical and program fit, verify insurance benefits, and coordinate timely admissions across residential, outpatient, and virtual levels of care.

This is a fast-paced role requiring strong communication skills, confidence on the phone, sound judgment, and the ability to multitask while maintaining empathy and professionalism.

Qualifications, Education, Experience, and Other Requirements:

  • Required: 2+ years of Admissions experience, in behavioral health, substance use treatment, or mental health services
  • Experience admitting into one or more levels of care (residential, outpatient, virtual) preferred
  • Working knowledge of AHCCCS and commercial insurance verification of benefits
  • Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to sound calm, confident, and friendly under pressure
  • Ability to manage a high volume of calls in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and accurate documentation
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and ethical judgment
  • Valid and unrestricted Arizona Driver's license
  • Adhere to Cornerstone Healing Center's code of ethics

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct initial screenings to determine appropriateness of care and level-of-care placement (residential, outpatient, virtual, or court services [DUI/DV] treatment)
  • Build rapport quickly with individuals and families in crisis, demonstrating empathy, confidence, and professionalism
  • Manage back-to-back calls while accurately documenting information in the CRM
  • Verify insurance benefits and explain coverage clearly to clients and families
  • Work with Commercial and AHCCCS plans
  • Coordinate admissions logistics with operations teams
  • Provide clear expectations regarding program structure, rules, and next steps
  • Maintain HIPAA compliance and ethical admissions practices at all times
  • Meet or exceed established performance metrics (call response time, conversion, documentation accuracy, etc.)
  • Participate in evening and / or weekend coverage as scheduled

Work Environment & Schedule:

  • Fast-paced admissions environment with frequent inbound calls
  • Schedule may include evenings and / or weekends
  • Remote / hybrid / onsite (adjusted as applicable)
  • Team-oriented culture with close collaboration across departments

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
