Responsibilities
Job Title: Advanced Practice Provider Educator
Mon -Fri, 9am-5pm (onsite)
Salary Range: $127,569 - $189,774 DOE
Full suite of benefits and retirement plan
Essential Functions and Responsibilities Includes the Following:
Educates new and existing PAs/NPs on relevant clinical matters pertinent to the PAs/NPs area of expertise
including; but not limited to, medical and surgical diagnoses, common procedures, and department specific
needs.
Develops, measures, signs off and manages all aspects of clinical competencies
Collaborates with the Medical Staff Office to account for appropriate Delineation of Privileges (DOP) for new and
existing PAs/NPs
Works with appropriate Lead APPs to manage onboarding checklist for each new APP
Utilize many methods for continuing education (i.e. lecture series, simulation lab, on-line resources, etc)
Be an ongoing resource for staff to develop and evolve clinically
Supports new PAs/NPs in their on-boarding process
Develops evidence-based standards of care, policies and procedures, etc. as needed for the area of responsibility Participates in committees, task forces, projects, etc. as required
Orchestrates education around billing, coding, and compliance
Work with medical staff ,nursing, care management, administration and other colleagues with a team approach
and perspective
Familiar with anatomy, pharmacology, pathophysiology, clinical medicine and physical diagnosis
Demonstrates ability to collaborate effectively all disciplines and specialties throughout the organization
Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively with all other disciplines in the medical arena
Education & Experience Requirements
NP/PA education experience preferred
Simulation experience preferred
If a Physician Assistant:
Current New York State Licensed Physician Assistant
Current National Certification
If a Nurse Practitioner:
Current NYS license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse
Current NYS certification as a Nurse Practitioner
Current National Certification
Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience required
Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS)
Certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Proficiency in procedures, techniques and skills approved in their delineation of privileges
