Rush University Medical Center, a nationally recognized clinical and academic institution and the teaching hospital for Rush Medical and Nursing Colleges, located in downtown Chicago, invites applications for the position of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery (PRS) Advanced Practice Provider (APP) . This provider will support P lastic and R econstructive S urgeons in outpatient clinic a s well as the C raniofacial S urgery (CFS) and Gen der Affirmation Surgery (GAS) team s as needed. The role will help facilitate initial consultations, revision consultations, most post - operative visits, small procedures and cosmetic services at Rush University Medical Center and its affiliate sites .

Department/division specs

• Practice alongside seven PRS, CFS and GAS physician s and seven fellow APPs
  

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Monday-Friday , 8am-4pm

• Report directly to the Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery Lead A PP

• 100% outpatient
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Applicants with previous Advanced Practice Provider experience in p lastic and r econstructive s urgery and/or related field is preferred , not required . Relevant RN experience may be considered.
  

Position Requirements:

Nurse Practitioner:

• Current licensure from the State of Illinois as a Registered Professional Nurse and Advanced Practice Nurse or eligible to obtain a licensure through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) application process

• Master of Science in Nursing or Doctorate of Nursing practice with clinical specialty appropriate to position

• Current certification by American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC) or American Academy of Nurse Practitioner (AANP)

• CPR, ACLS and PALS certifications
  

Physician Assistant:

• Current licensure from the State of Illinois as a Physician Assistant/Associate or eligible to obtain a licensure through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) application process

• Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant/Associate Program

• Current certification from National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants

• CPR, ACLS and PALS certifications
  

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will promote collaboration between multiple disciplines to ensure cost effective and quality patient care. The individual who holds this position will exemplify the Rush mission, vision and values and act in accordance with the policies, procedures, guidelines of Rush, including the Rush Medical Group Customer Service standards. Successful candidates will also meet all other state and federal regulatory practice and accreditation standards.

Across the system, the APPs are supported by 4 levels of leadership, including 39 Lead APPs, three chief CRNAs, and a Senior Director of Advanced Practice Providers.
