Position Summary



The Advancement Services Analyst supports Fresno Pacific University’s fundraising and engagement efforts by maintaining accurate donor and prospect data in Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge and Raiser’s Edge NXT. Reporting to the Director of Advancement Services, this position focuses on generating lists, producing data-driven reports, and performing database cleanup to ensure the reliability of advancement records. The Analyst also cross-trains with the Director of Advancement Services to learn financial and campaign reporting processes. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and adherence to the highest standards of donor confidentiality.

Essential Functions

  • Maintain the accuracy and integrity of donor and constituent records in Raiser’s Edge and Raiser’s Edge NXT.
  • Develop and maintain a reporting calendar/dashboard to manage list requests and workflow.
  • Generate queries, lists, and reports to support advancement leadership, fundraisers, and campus stakeholders.
  • Cross-train with the Director of Advancement Services on financial and campaign reporting, including reconciliation with the Business Office.
  • Implement data entry standards, workflows, and cleanup processes to ensure quality and consistency.
  • Manage annual updates of organizational lists (e.g., board members, government officials).
  • Configure and update security settings in Raiser’s Edge as directed.
  • Conduct prospect research using Research Point and other resources to support gift officer portfolios and pipelines.
  • Serve as backup for gift processing and receipt generation, as needed.
  • Stay current on Raiser’s Edge NXT developments and participate in training opportunities.
  • Provide technical support and training for advancement staff and collaborate with other departments as needed.
  • Leverage Raiser’s Edge to support communications across multiple channels (email, social media, events, forms).
  • Assist with advancement events, including preparation and staffing.
  • Deliver accurate, timely, and complete work across all assigned tasks.
  • Maintain donor confidentiality and comply with university policies, CASE standards, and data governance practices.

Qualifications

Required:
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Raiser’s Edge/NXT or similar CRM system, including queries, list generation, data cleanup, imports, and communications.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Collaborative team player with a professional and service-oriented approach.

Preferred:
  • 5 years of experience in Raiser's Edge/NXT or similar CRM system.
  • Experience in higher education or nonprofit advancement.
  • Experience with Blackbaud Research Point.

Environmental Conditions:
  • Indoors in a normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, fumes, vibrations, and temperature changes at least eighty percent (80%) of the time.
  • Frequent computer use at a workstation, up to eight hours per day.
  • Frequently work at a fast pace with unscheduled interruptions.
  • Drive personal or University vehicles to appointments.
  • Public contact position requiring professional apparel, personal hygiene, and grooming.

Physical Demands:
  • This position typically functions indoors in an office environment with light to moderate noise associated with business office equipment. The position may involve travel for meetings and events.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: remain in a stationary position 80 % of the time, be able to move about inside the office to access file cabinets/office machinery etc., operate a computer and keyboard and other office productivity machinery such as calculators/copy machines/printers. The employee is occasionally required to position self to reach items on the floor and in high cabinetry.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Employee must be able to communicate with others to exchange information including both over the telephone and in-person communication with callers and community members and be able to read a computer screen and paper documents.

University Information

$45,780.00 to $53,040 is the annual starting salary for this role and reflects what Fresno Pacific University reasonably expects to pay for this position. Actual compensation may vary based on qualifications, experience, and internal equity. In addition to compensation, FPU offers a competitive benefits package.

This position is based on the Main Campus of Fresno Pacific University in Fresno, CA, but is eligible for remote or hybrid work.
