Duties
- Fabricate and assemble carbon fiber components using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers
- Prepare molds and layup materials according to schematics and CAD (Computer-Aided Design) drawings using software like CATIA and AutoCAD
- Conduct quality inspections utilizing coordinate measuring machines (CMM) and other precision instruments to ensure components meet specifications
- Perform repairs and modifications on carbon fiber parts, including equipment repair and sheet metal work as needed
- Follow strict manufacturing processes aligned with AS9100 standards for aerospace quality management systems
- Analyze root causes of manufacturing defects or issues through root cause analysis techniques to improve processes
- Maintain accurate documentation of work performed in CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) and ensure compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) and aviation industry standards
Qualifications
- Proven experience in aerospace manufacturing, fabrication, or aircraft maintenance with mechanical knowledge of airframes, avionics, or vehicle maintenance
- Strong electrical experience including soldering, use of ohmmeters, ammeters, and multimeters for electrical troubleshooting
- Familiarity with schematics, CAD software (CATIA, AutoCAD), and technical drawings related to aerospace components
- Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, calipers, micrometers, and precision measuring instruments
- Knowledge of heavy lifting techniques and safety protocols for working with large or heavy materials
- Understanding of Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR), AS9100 standards, and aviation industry best practices
- Ability to perform root cause analysis on manufacturing issues to identify improvements and ensure quality control
- Strong mechanical aptitude combined with electrical skills; experience in sheet metal fabrication, soldering, welding preferred
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on safety, quality assurance, and continuous improvement
