Affordable Housing Manager (Housing Advocacy & Community Development)

SALARY

The minimum salary is $75,306.40 annually.
This position is not eligible for overtime (exempt); however, the city has a compensatory time leave program for employees that grants leave time for hours worked in excess of forty hours.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION


The purpose of this classification is to work with the Affordable Housing Board to study housing market conditions, propose affordable housing programs, evaluate the financial design of proposed affordable housing projects, and coordinate with government and partner agencies to monitor and evaluate affordable housing in Lexington.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Public Administration or a field related to the job
  • Six (6) years of related experience
  • Additional years of related education may substitute for years of experience
  • Additional years of related experience may substitute for years of education

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Uses knowledge of single and multi-family housing development to evaluate and underwrite funding applications and make recommendations regarding proposed affordable housing projects
  • Engages community stakeholders regarding affordable housing programs including the Urban County Council, Mayor, neighborhoods, partner agencies, and other entities
  • Prepares activity reports and presentations for the Affordable Housing Board of Directors, city officials and the community
  • Communicates with participants and potential applicants regarding participation and the Affordable Housing Program guidelines
  • Performs affordable housing research and studies including strategic planning and assessing housing needs in Lexington
  • Monitors implementation and compliance of projects with federal, state and local regulations
  • Reconciles available funds, processes funding draws, and services loans
  • Performs related work as assigned
