After School After Care Instructor

Job Summary

In this role, you will lead fun and educational activities, manage classroom behavior, and support children’s social and emotional development. Responsibilities

• Supervise children in a lively after-school setting, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all participants.
• Plan and facilitate engaging activities that promote creativity, teamwork, and personal growth, including arts and crafts, sports, theater, and educational games.
• Manage classroom behavior using positive reinforcement techniques to foster respect and cooperation among children.
• Provide basic first aid when necessary and respond promptly to any injuries or emergencies following established protocols.
• Support children with special needs or those requiring additional assistance by implementing individualized strategies aligned with their development plans.
• Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and school staff regarding children’s progress and any concerns that arise during program hours.
• Maintain a clean, organized activity space that encourages safety and creativity while adhering to all childcare regulations.

Requirements

• Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, camp counseling, tutoring, or babysitting is highly preferred.
• Strong skills in classroom management and behavior management techniques to create a positive atmosphere.
• Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices.
• Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional certifications in special education or child psychology are a plus.
• Ability to engage children through sports coaching, theatrical activities, or other creative outlets that support their growth.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with parents, colleagues, and children effectively.
