This position is ideal for education majors, aspiring teachers, or experienced childcare professionals who are passionate about creating a safe, engaging, and supportive environment for elementary-aged students.

As an After-School Program Educator (Counselor), you'll play a key role in fostering children's academic, social, and emotional development through homework support, enrichment activities, and positive mentorship. We're looking for someone who brings energy, professionalism, and a genuine love of working with children.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to gain meaningful experience in education, youth development, and program management while making a lasting impact on children's lives.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and engage students in a safe, structured after-school environment.
  • Assist students with homework and provide academic support when needed.
  • Plan and lead enrichment activities, including arts and crafts, STEM projects, games, sports, theater, and team-building exercises.
  • Encourage positive behavior while maintaining consistent classroom expectations.
  • Build strong, respectful relationships with students, families, and fellow staff.
  • Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all children throughout the program.
  • Support children with varying learning styles and developmental needs.
  • Collaborate with team members to create a fun, inclusive, and enriching experience each day.
  • Help create a positive environment where students feel supported, confident, and excited to learn.

Qualifications

  • 3–4 years of experience working with children in an after-school program, tutoring, teaching, daycare, summer camp, nannying, or babysitting setting.
  • Currently pursuing or holding a degree in Education, Childhood Education, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field strongly preferred.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Patient, responsible, dependable, and professional.
  • Ability to engage children through creative activities and positive mentorship.
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
  • CPR and First Aid certification is a plus.

Growth Opportunities

We believe in investing in our team members and creating opportunities for professional growth. Strong performers will have the opportunity to take on additional responsibilities, mentor new staff, assist with program planning, lead activities, and grow into future leadership positions within our organization.

This role is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build experience in education, youth development, and program leadership while developing valuable professional skills. We recognize dedication, initiative, and a passion for working with children.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate is someone who genuinely enjoys working with children and is committed to helping them learn, grow, and succeed. We value team members who bring positive energy, take initiative, and serve as strong role models for our students.
