After School Teacher

POSITION SUMMARY:

After School Teachers work with co-teachers in supervising and leading activities during the after school time period and occasionally some full –day care. They are responsible for creating curriculum that ties in with TEKS and represents CCC’s mission of bridging East and West through educational, social, and cultural activities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

· High School graduate

· At least 18 years old

· CPR/First Aid certified

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

· Some college credit hours, preferably in Early Childhood Education or related field

· Bilingual is a plus

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Interactions

o Supervise children

o Assist students with homework

o Create enrichment activities

· Meal Distribution

o Assist in passing out meals and snacks to students during morning and afternoon hours following the Child and Adult Care Food Program safety guidelines.

o Accurately fill out daily meal count associated with the Child and Adult Care Food Program.

o Supervise students during meal times.

· Curriculum Development

o Create activity plans that are age-appropriate and relate to the specified subject.

o Use developmentally appropriate practices to guide and teach children.

· Record Keeping

o Maintain classrooms records such as attendance and incident reports.

o Ensure student safety by checking ID’s of everyone who comes to pick up students.

· Professional Development

o To perform the job successfully, the incumbent must be able to satisfactorily attend professional development trainings and stay aware of the Center’s policies and procedures.

o Ensure that staff attends professional development trainings to meet State Licensing standards.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $13.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week
