Carew Concrete & Supply Co., Inc. is seeking an Aggregate Operations Assistant Manager to join our team! The Aggregate Operations Assistant Manager supports the Aggregates Manager in leading daily operations across the region’s aggregate sites. This role is instrumental in building a culture rooted in safety, operational excellence, efficiency, preventive maintenance, and continuous improvement.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on operational leader who leads by example, develops strong teams, drives performance through Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and ensures safe, efficient, and cost-effective aggregate production.

Operational Excellence & Efficiency

Support daily production operations to ensure output, quality, and availability targets are met.

Analyze production data to identify trends and implement improvements.

Promote best-practice processes across crushing, screening, washing, and loadout operations.

Ensure consistent adherence to quality standards.
Preventive Maintenance & Asset Management

Foster a strong culture of preventive maintenance for fixed plant equipment and mobile fleet.

Work with maintenance teams to minimize unplanned downtime.

Investigate root causes of breakdowns and implement long-term corrective actions.

Assist in capital planning for equipment replacement and upgrades.

Evaluate vendor performance and support purchasing decisions from a total-cost perspective.
Financial Responsibility

Assist in the development and achievement of the regional operating budget.

Monitor production costs, labor utilization, and equipment performance.

Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Support capital expenditure planning aligned with operational needs.
Continuous Improvement

Encourage all team members to identify opportunities to improve efficiency, safety, and productivity.

Use KPI performance metrics to measure progress and guide decision-making.

Support implementation of process improvements and operational best practices.

1-3 years of leadership experience in aggregates, mining, construction materials, or heavy industrial operations

Strong understanding of plant operations and heavy equipment

Knowledge of MSHA, OSHA, and environmental compliance requirements

Experience managing operational KPIs and production metrics

Demonstrated ability to coach and develop team members

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Budgeting and cost management experience preferred

Commitment to safety and operational excellence

Valid Class D Drivers license with good driving record
