Agile Practitioner

Responsibilities:
The Agile Practitioner is a Senior Professional (P3) who applies advanced knowledge of Agile methodologies and practices, typically obtained through extensive education and work experience. This role operates independently with limited supervision and is responsible for:
  • Facilitating Agile ceremonies and processes.
  • Coaching and reviewing the work of less experienced professionals.
  • Navigating complex and sometimes difficult challenges.
The Agile Practitioner supports the work of Agile Teams—cross-functional, self-organizing, and collaborative groups using Agile frameworks (such as Scrum/Kanban) to deliver high-value outcomes addressing complex problems, including technology development.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Coaching teams to understand and apply Agile frameworks and practices.
  • Guiding teams through Agile execution to deliver outcomes prioritized by the Product Owner.
  • Ensuring clarity of goals and scope for the team.
  • Identifying and supporting tools for backlog management.
  • Removing impediments that hinder progress.
  • Facilitating Agile ceremonies (e.g., Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Planning, Reviews, and Retrospectives).
  • Promoting continuous communication and improving team dynamics.
  • Motivating and fostering team cohesion.
  • Managing external interference to protect team effectiveness.
  • Sharing accountability for team success.
The Agile Practitioner focuses on the needs of the teams they serve, aiming to achieve results aligned with the organization’s values, principles, and business objectives. They act as a mentor to Agile teams, Product Owners, and other Agile Practitioners, helping to cultivate an Agile mindset, deliver business value, and support coordination across teams, products, programs, and portfolios.
Under moderate supervision, the Agile Practitioner facilitates all Agile ceremonies and maturity assessments, emphasizing sustainable pace and continuous improvement. They play an integral role in planning, organizing, and facilitating Agile Release Planning at both the team and program levels.
Collaboration with teams to develop and maintain standards, performance metrics, and best practices—including working agreements, definitions of done, and definitions of ready—is essential. This role also promotes a Community of Practice by sharing knowledge and feedback, taking a holistic view of processes and interactions, identifying bottlenecks, and encouraging innovation and self-improvement.
The Agile Practitioner must regularly analyze data and meet complex interpersonal, analytical, and organizational demands. They build strong relationships across the organization to engage stakeholders and advance Agile practices.

  • Working knowledge of agile tools e.g., Azure DevOps, Jira, VersionOne, or similar
  • Working knowledge of modern software engineering practices: Branching, Test Automation, CI/CD or similar

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing
  • Visually able to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, viewing a computer terminal, and extensive reading
  • Ability to sit for extended time periods
  • Sufficient manual skill for operation of PC keyboard and other standard office equipment
  • Ability to travel, including occasional overnight travel
  • Ability to exert minimum amounts of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull or move objects

Qualifications:
5-8 years of related experience
Education Level: General and business knowledge equivalent to a bachelor's degree Certifications: Professional Scrum Master (PSM-1); PSM-2 preferred Compensation Overview:
We are excited to offer a competitive salary for this position. This figure serves as the entry point in our salary range, and there is potential for the actual salary to be higher based on a variety of factors, such as your experience, skills, education, and location. We believe in recognizing and rewarding talent, so our compensation packages are thoughtfully designed to reflect the unique qualifications and contributions of each candidate.
The minimum salary for this position is: $110,000.00+/yr About Us:
