AGM OPERATIONS POULTRY FEED

Job Summary:

The Assistant General Manager (AGM) - Operations is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing and optimizing all operational aspects of our poultry feed mill. The AGM will be accountable for production, quality control, logistics, maintenance, and safety to ensure the efficient and profitable operation of the facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in feed milling, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Leadership:
  • Lead and manage the daily operations of the feed mill, including receiving raw materials, production, bagging, and dispatch.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies to meet production targets, reduce costs, and improve efficiency.
  • Oversee the entire production process to ensure timely and accurate execution of production plans.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Team Management and Development:
  • Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of production supervisors, operators, and maintenance staff.
  • Conduct performance reviews, provide training, and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure all staff adhere to company policies, safety regulations, and quality standards.
  • Quality Control and Assurance:
  • Ensure the production of high-quality poultry feed that meets all internal and external standards.
  • Work closely with the Quality Control team to monitor raw material quality, in-process samples, and finished product analysis.
  • Implement and maintain a robust quality management system (e.g., ISO, HACCP).
  • Maintenance and Safety:
  • Collaborate with the Maintenance team to ensure all machinery and equipment are in optimal working condition.
  • Develop and oversee a preventative maintenance schedule to minimize downtime.
  • Champion a strong safety culture and ensure strict adherence to all safety protocols and regulations (OSHA, etc.).
  • Investigate and report on any operational incidents or safety violations.
  • Supply Chain and Logistics:
  • Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure a steady supply of raw materials.
  • Optimize logistics and dispatch operations to ensure timely delivery of finished goods.
  • Manage inventory levels of raw materials and finished products to prevent shortages or excess.
  • Budgeting and Reporting:
  • Assist in the development of the annual operational budget.
  • Monitor and control operational expenses to stay within budget.
  • Generate regular reports on production, quality, and operational performance for senior management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Feed Technology, Agriculture, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in the feed milling industry, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Proven experience in managing a feed mill or similar industrial manufacturing operation.
  • Strong knowledge of feed formulation, production processes, and quality control.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in using production management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a team, solve problems, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and quality management systems (e.g., HACCP, ISO).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹125,000.00 per month
