Job Description: Agricultural Engineer (Landscape Retail Shop – Sales)

Position Summary:
The Agricultural Engineer will support the landscape retail shop by providing technical expertise on plants, soils, fertilizers, irrigation materials, and landscaping products. The role involves assisting customers, preparing quotations, ensuring proper stock management, and contributing to overall sales growth.

Key Responsibilities:Customer Service & Sales

• Assist walk-in customers by understanding their requirements and recommending suitable plants, soil mixes, fertilizers, tools, and landscaping materials.
• Provide professional advice on plant care, irrigation needs, pest management, and landscape maintenance.
• Prepare and submit quotations for customer inquiries.
• Promote shop products and achieve monthly sales targets.

Technical Support

• Inspect and maintain plant health within the shop, ensuring proper watering and pest control.
• Advise customers on correct planting techniques, soil requirements, and irrigation methods.
• Support project teams by providing required materials or technical inputs when needed.

Inventory & Shop Management

• Ensure proper checking, receiving, and recording of incoming stock.
• Maintain accurate records of material take-out for projects, nurseries, and maintenance teams.
• Coordinate with suppliers regarding orders, shortages, or quality issues.
• Keep the shop organized, clean, and presentable.

Documentation & Reporting

• Record daily sales and prepare reports as required.
• Maintain stock registers and ensure timely submission of material take-out sheets.
• Follow company procedures for material issuance and returns.

Team Coordination

• Work closely with supervisors, drivers, and project teams for material collection and delivery.
• Provide training or guidance to shop staff on plant handling and product knowledge.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture / Horticulture or related field.
• Experience in landscaping, nursery operations, or agricultural sales preferred.
• Strong knowledge of plant species, fertilizers, pest control, and irrigation systems.
• Good communication and customer handling skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work in a busy retail environment.
