Agriculture Production Supervisor

Job Overview

SG Allied Businesses Limited is seeking a proactive, hands-on Agricultural Operations Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operations across our mushroom production facility & compost yard.

This is a diverse operational role requiring excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple agricultural processes simultaneously. The successful candidate will supervise teams, ensure Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are followed, maintain operational hygiene, monitor crop and compost quality, and support continuous improvement across the farm.

You will work closely with the Production Manager and other department heads to ensure efficient operations while maintaining the highest standards of productivity, quality, food safety, and workplace safety.

Key Responsibilities

1. Mushroom Production Operations

· Supervise the emptying of Phase 2 compost from tunnels.

· Oversee the loading and unloading of compost according to production schedules.

· Supervise spawn mixing operations and ensure accurate execution of SOPs.

· Coordinate labour during spawning, compost movement, and room preparation.

· Supervise the cleaning, washing, and sanitization of mushroom growing rooms after each production cycle.

· Ensure all growing rooms and production areas remain clean, organized, and free from debris.

· Assist the production team with daily operational activities across the mushroom farm.

2. Compost Production Management

· Supervise all stages of compost production from raw material preparation through Phase 1 and Phase 2.

· Ensure correct preparation of compost using wheat straw, chicken manure, gypsum, water, and other raw materials according to established SOPs.

· Monitor compost temperature, moisture, pH, carbon content, ammonia, and environmental conditions throughout the composting process.

· Supervise bunker filling, watering, turning schedules, and tunnel loading and unloading.

· Monitor pasteurization, conditioning, cooling, and compost quality before spawning.

· Prevent compost quality issues by maintaining appropriate airflow, watering schedules, and turning frequency.

· Maintain accurate records of compost batches, production data, and environmental parameters.

3. General Farm Operations

· Supervise and manage irrigation schedules for crops to ensure efficient water use and healthy crop development.

· Oversee harvesting operations to ensure produce is harvested at the appropriate stage while maintaining quality and minimizing post-harvest losses.

· Monitor and implement pest and disease management programs to maintain healthy crops and ensure timely corrective actions when required.

4. Documentation & Reporting

· Prepare daily operational reports covering mushroom production, compost production, and field activities.

· Maintain production logs, compost batch records, irrigation records, harvesting records, and operational checklists.

· Report equipment failures, quality concerns, production delays, and operational issues promptly.

· Assist management with production planning and continuous process improvement initiatives.

5. Health, Safety & Hygiene

· Ensure compliance with food safety, biosecurity, and workplace safety procedures.

· Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the compost yard, mushroom farm, and agricultural fields.

· Enforce PPE requirements and safe equipment operation.

· Promote a safe, organized, and efficient working environment.

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Environmental Sciences, Agronomy, Plant Sciences, or a related discipline.

· 1–2 years of experience supervising agricultural, horticultural, mushroom production, compost production, or similar operations.

· Experience managing operational teams in a production environment is preferred.

Reporting

Reports directly to the Production Manager.

Pay: Rs80,000.00 - Rs115,000.00 per month
