Job Context
The Taloja sheet rolling plant is located in the Raigad district of Maharashtra. The capacity of plant is 79,200 TPA. Taloja has a team of around 500 people. Aluminium Sheets & Coils, Lithographic sheets, Finstock, Foil stock, Closure stock, Lamp caps are the main products of Taloja.
Hindalco Industries Limited, Taloja has been designing and implementing various HR / IR initiatives for the last few years, which has resulted in improving overall efficiency, teamwork and business friendly shop floor practices, leading to improved productivity. Innovative Employee relations practices such as multiskilling, kaizen movement and training for increasing skill and employability, has resulted in collaborative Industrial Relations, which has been recognised by EFI – National Award in Industrial Relations for the year 2013-14.
Taloja HR has been able to create synergy amongst various departments, facilitating major implementation of multiskilling across the plant. Employee engagement practices involving at all levels, recognition initiatives involving families, etc. have given cutting edge to Taloja.
Job Challenges:Major challenges are Skill level has been eroding continually because of superannuation, with the new agreement recently implemented, Multiskilling and Multifunctioning concept has been introduced which has necessitated that skill level of workmen to be increased. Coordination of Technical Training for shopfloor employees, employee engagement activities, event management, administration.

Compilation of Training needs and preparation of Training Plan

Sourcing appropriate internal / external faculty for conducting programmes in line with identified needs

Organising training programmes to address training and development needs identified through performance appraisals for management staff.

Monitoring the execution of Technical Training plans to ensure competency enhancement required for effective equipment utilization and safe working practices.

Giving inputs to departments for preparation of Training handouts

Ensuring that effectiveness evaluation of Technical Training progs is done.

Data capturing and analysis for monthly MIS wrt HR, Safety, Quality, BQIP etc.
