Holland Construction is seeking an AI Engineer to help develop and implement practical artificial intelligence solutions that improve how we plan, build, and manage construction projects. This role will work closely with operations, IT, project management, safety, and the field, as well as with estimating teams to design tools that leverage data to improve decision-making, productivity, and project outcomes.
The ideal candidate is both technically strong and business-minded, capable of translating field and operational challenges into data-driven solutions using modern AI and machine learning techniques.
Key Responsibilities

Partner with operations leaders, project managers, and field teams to identify opportunities for AI solutions.

Translate operational problems into technical requirements.

Present insights and tools to business leaders in clear, practical terms.

Design, develop, and deploy machine learning models that support construction operations.

Build predictive models for project schedules, cost forecasting, and risk identification.

Develop AI-powered tools that automate manual workflows such as document classification, RFI tracking, and submittal management.

Work with internal systems such as project management platforms, ERP systems, and BIM tools to collect and structure data.

Build data pipelines to support AI model training and deployment.

Integrate AI tools into company platforms and workflows.
Support development of AI solutions in areas such as:

Jobsite safety analytics

Schedule risk prediction

Equipment utilization tracking

Cost and budget forecasting

Document processing and knowledge search

Image recognition for site progress tracking

Monitor AI model performance and improve accuracy over time.

Stay current on emerging AI technologies and evaluate potential applications for construction.
Education and Experience

Typically requires a bachelor's degree in computer science, AI, Data Science, Machine Learning, or related field and 2-5 years of related experience OR equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

Preferred: Experience with construction industry data and construction specific tech stacks.
