The AI Product Engineer (UI/UX Design) will be responsible for designing and delivering user-centric interfaces and workflows that integrate seamlessly with RAD’s AI capabilities. You will translate complex AI functions into clear, usable product experiences, working closely with product management, engineering, instructional designers, and end-users.

Responsibilities, include but are not limited to:

Product & UX Design

  • Lead design of RAD’s user interface, including dashboards, workflows, AI-powered tools, and interactive components.
  • Translate user needs into wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI designs.
  • Conduct user research, usability testing, and experience mapping for educators, administrators, and learners.
  • Establish and maintain a scalable design system tailored for AI-first interactions.

AI Integration & Product Engineering

  • Shape end-to-end user journeys connecting AI features (generative content, feedback loops, personalization engines, etc.) with intuitive UX flows.
  • Prototype AI-powered interactions (chat interfaces, prompt builders, generative design tools, etc.).
  • Collaborate with machine learning teams to define UX behavior for AI outputs, validation, error handling, and explainability.
  • Implement interactive front-end components (React, Vue, or similar) for production or engineering handoff.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work with product managers to define requirements, user stories, and prioritization.
  • Align design decisions with pedagogical needs and EdTech best practices.
  • Communicate design specifications clearly to engineering and QA teams.
  • Participate in sprint planning, reviews, and agile product cycles.

Quality & Innovation

  • Ensure accessibility standards (WCAG) and responsive design across devices.
  • Continuously research new AI UX patterns, multimodal experiences, and best practices.
  • Identify opportunities to automate or streamline educational workflows via AI.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Design, Computer Science, or related field.

Experience & skills

  • 3–7 years of experience in UX/UI design or front-end product engineering.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating user-centric design for complex or AI-enabled products.
  • Proficiency with design tools: Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD (Figma preferred).
  • Strong front-end engineering experience: React, Vue, or Angular.
  • Understanding of generative AI concepts (LLMs, prompt design, interaction patterns).
  • Experience conducting and synthesizing user research and usability studies.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in EdTech, LMS platforms, or learning design tools.
  • Familiarity with AI model behavior, prompt engineering, and evaluation.
  • Ability to design multimodal, conversational, or voice-based interfaces.
  • Experience working in agile product teams.
  • Knowledge of accessibility, localization, and UX writing.
