Job Summary
The Director, Web Development & SEO leads the strategy and execution for our portfolio’s web platforms and organic visibility. This role owns technical architecture, site performance, accessibility and privacy compliance, and a comprehensive SEO program tailored to hospitality—driving bookings, RFPs, and revenue through high‑quality experiences across brand.com and independent hotel sites. The director partners closely with Revenue Management, eCommerce, Paid Media, Creative, IT/Compliance, and Property teams to deliver measurable outcomes and a best‑in‑class digital guest journey.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 10+ years in web development and SEO, including 5+ years leading high‑performing teams in multi‑site/enterprise environments—hospitality experience strongly preferred.
- Deep technical SEO knowledge (crawl/indexation, rendering, schema, CWV), modern front‑end stack (e.g., React/Next/Vue), and CMS governance.
- Proven success implementing GA4/GTM, data layer standards, and privacy/consent frameworks; familiarity with ADA/WCAG and CCPA.
- Mastery of SEO and analytics tools (Search Console, Screaming Frog, BrightEdge/Ahrefs/SEMrush, Looker/Power BI); comfort with A/B testing and experimentation.
- Proficiency in navigating multiple CMS platforms; ability to troubleshoot complex site issues across a large hotel portfolio.
- Knowledge of domain management practices, including DNS and DMARC records, and experience partnering with IT teams on security and hosting needs.
- Experience auditing websites for UX, personalization, ADA compliance, and performance improvements and running A/B testing to drive performance improvements.
- Ability to prioritize work across a large, diverse portfolio and adapt to shifting strategies.
- Strong project management skills with experience overseeing new website builds, managing timelines, budgets, and cross‑functional teams.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Set the technical vision and roadmap for portfolio websites (brand.com and independent), including CMS governance, front‑end standards, Core Web Vitals, page speed, security, and release management
- Oversee partnership of proprietary CMS vendor in development of new websites from concept through launch, applying UX/UI best practices and ensuring responsive, user‑centric design; provide project management oversight to keep timelines, budgets, and stakeholder expectations on track.
- Champion accessibility (WCAG) and privacy by design; ensure ADA reviews and consent/telemetry solutions (e.g., OneTrust) are implemented and audited in partnership with IT/Compliance.
- Ability to evaluate and navigate in a variety of CMS'/ability to troubleshoot site issues for portfolio of hotels. Audit existing sites for opportunities to improve UX, personalization, ADA compliance, and overall guest experience.
- Standardize tracking patterns for complex hotel setups (cross‑domain booking engines, brand constraints) and resolve measurement gaps.
- Build the enterprise SEO/GEO strategy spanning technical SEO, content, internal linking, structured data (schema.org/Hotel), and off‑page authority.
- Establish monitoring and publish regular portfolio insights to leadership.
- Navigate brand platform capabilities/constraints (Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Hyatt) to maximize what can be implemented and how—codifying guidance for title/meta, H‑tags, copy modules, internal links, and image/alt patterns.
- Integrate web/SEO efforts with booking engines, CRS/PMS data, and revenue strategies.
