The Brief
In this role as an AI/ML Scientist on the Global Data and Analytics (GDA) team, you will support the development of strategic, visibility-driven recommendation systems that serve both internal stakeholders and external customers. This initiative aims to deliver actionable insights that enhance supply chain execution, support strategic decision-making, and enable innovative service offerings.

You should be able to design, develop, and implement machine learning models, conduct deep data analysis, and support decision-making with data-driven insights. Responsibilities include building and validating predictive models, supporting experiment design, and integrating advanced techniques like transformers, GANs, and reinforcement learning into scalable production systems.

The role requires solving complex problems using NLP, deep learning, optimization, and computer vision. You should be comfortable working independently, writing reliable code with automated tests, and contributing to debugging and refinement.

You’ll also document your methods and results clearly and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact AI/ML solutions that align with business objectives and user needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement advanced machine learning, deep learning, and NLP models to solve complex business problems and enhance operational efficiency.
• Apply NLP techniques (e.g., text classification, entity recognition, topic modelling, embeddings, large language models) to extract insights from unstructured data sources such as text, documents, and customer interactions.
• Analyze large structured and unstructured datasets to extract meaningful insights, creating data visualizations and reports to effectively communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, product, operations, business stakeholders) to identify opportunities for applying advanced analytics and ensure alignment with business goals.
• Design, conduct, and evaluate experiments to validate model performance, improve NLP pipelines, and optimize algorithms based on feedback and results.
• Stay current with industry trends in AI/ML/NLP, incorporating state-of-the-art methods and best practices into workflows.
• Manage end-to-end data science projects – from problem definition and data preparation to model development, deployment, and monitoring – ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of statistical analysis, hypothesis testing, predictive modeling, and NLP concepts (tokenization, embeddings, transformers, semantic search).
• 5+ years of solid experience with Machine Learning & Deep Learning frameworks (scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras).
• Hands-on experience in NLP libraries and frameworks (spaCy, Hugging Face Transformers, NLTK, gensim).
• Strong programming skills (preferably in Python, PySpark, SQL).
• Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Matplotlib, Seaborn) to present insights effectively.
• Proven ability to solve problems independently while collaborating in fast-paced, cross-functional teams.
• Excellent communication skills to clearly articulate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Solid experience working with both supervised and unsupervised learning techniques on real-world datasets.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience deploying NLP and ML models in production environments using Docker, Kubernetes, Azure ML, or Azure Data Factory.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and MLOps pipelines.
• Experience building interactive dashboards (Power BI, Dash, Streamlit) or integrating NLP insights into business-facing applications.
• Strong hands-on experience with distributed computing frameworks (e.g., Spark).
• Exposure to cloud-based orchestration technologies (Airflow, KubeFlow).
• Experience applying Generative AI and large language models (LLMs) for business applications such as conversational AI, recommendation, or automation.
• Background in working within agile product engineering teams (Scrum, Kanban).
