Aircraft Disassembly and Retrieval Specialist

Dodson International Parts, Inc. is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Aircraft Disassembly and Retrieval Specialist to join our aviation operations team. This position plays a vital role in supporting the company’s aircraft acquisition, recovery, and teardown programs. The successful candidate will assist in the retrieval, transportation, inspection, and systematic disassembly of aircraft and aircraft components to support parts recovery, inventory management, and resale operations.

Working within a dynamic aviation environment, the Aircraft Disassembly and Retrieval Specialist contributes directly to the safe and efficient recovery of valuable aircraft components that help support operators and maintenance organizations worldwide. This position requires a strong commitment to safety, attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams across maintenance, logistics, and warehouse operations.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate professionalism, a strong work ethic, and the ability to follow regulatory standards and company procedures while working with complex aircraft systems and structures.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

The responsibilities listed below represent the core duties associated with this role. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as operational needs require.

Aircraft Retrieval and Recovery

· Assist in the retrieval and recovery of aircraft from various locations, including airports, storage facilities, and remote sites.

· Support transportation and logistics planning associated with aircraft relocation and recovery operations.

· Participate in pre-retrieval inspections to evaluate aircraft condition and determine safe handling procedures.

· Assist with preparing aircraft and components for safe transportation or disassembly operations.

Aircraft Disassembly and Component Removal

· Perform structured aircraft disassembly and teardown activities in accordance with approved procedures.

· Safely remove and preserve aircraft systems, assemblies, and components for refurbishment, inventory, or resale.

· Utilize appropriate hand tools, power tools, and specialized aviation equipment to complete component removal.

· Ensure that all disassembly activities are conducted with strict adherence to safety protocols and manufacturer recommendations.

Inspection and Component Evaluation

· Inspect aircraft structures, assemblies, and individual components to determine condition, usability, and potential defects.

· Identify components that meet resale or refurbishment standards in accordance with company guidelines.

· Communicate findings to supervisors and relevant departments to ensure accurate evaluation and processing.

Documentation and Inventory Support

· Accurately label, tag, and document recovered aircraft components for inventory tracking.

· Maintain detailed records related to aircraft retrieval, disassembly activities, and parts recovery.

· Assist with the organization and preparation of components for warehouse storage, shipping, or resale.

Safety and Regulatory Compliance

· Follow all applicable FAA regulations, manufacturer specifications, and company safety procedures.

· Support ongoing safety initiatives and contribute to maintaining a safe operational environment.

Team Collaboration

· Work collaboratively with maintenance technicians, logistics personnel, and warehouse staff to ensure operational efficiency.

· Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding project progress and operational needs.

· Assist in maintaining a positive, productive, and team-oriented work environment.

Workplace Organization

· Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area at all times.

· Ensure tools, equipment, and materials are properly stored and maintained after use.

Job-Specific RequirementsAttendance

· Demonstrate consistent and reliable attendance to support operational schedules and team coordination.

Physical Requirements

· Routinely lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds, with occasional lifting up to 100 pounds.

· Perform repetitive physical tasks associated with aircraft disassembly and component handling.

· Work comfortably in confined spaces, on elevated surfaces, and around active mechanical equipment.

· Frequently perform physical movements including walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, stooping, climbing, and prolonged standing or sitting.

Environmental Requirements

· Comfortable working in hangar environments, outdoor conditions, and aircraft storage facilities.

· Ability to tolerate high-noise environments and varying or extreme temperatures.

· Willingness to work in environments involving mechanical equipment, aircraft structures, and industrial workspaces.

Work Schedule

· Standard work schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

· Flexibility to work occasional overtime when operational requirements demand.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.00 - $18.00 per hour
