Your Competitive Edge:

Starting hourly rate of $32.00 – $44.00 per hour depending on experience (includes Inspector Premium of $2.00/hour)

Where You Make Your Mark
The Aircraft Maintenance Inspector serves as a critical quality gate within the Jet Access Maintenance repair station, ensuring that all work performed by technicians meets FAA regulatory requirements, manufacturer specifications, and Jet Access standards before aircraft are returned to service. This role holds inspection authority delegated by the Chief Inspector and is accountable for the accuracy, completeness, and airworthiness of every article that passes through the facility. By maintaining rigorous inspection standards and precise documentation, the Aircraft Maintenance Inspector directly protects the safety of Team Members, clients, crew, and the operational integrity of the Jet Access fleet.
Inspection Authority and Regulatory Compliance

Perform aircraft inspections in accordance with FAA regulations, Type Certification Data Sheets, Airworthiness Directives, and Jet Access repair station procedures, as delegated by the Chief Inspector per the repair station roster.

Certify articles for return to service per 14 CFR Part 65 when authorized on the Repair Station Roster, ensuring all airworthiness standards are met prior to release.

Conduct preliminary, in-progress, hidden damage, and final inspections on all articles processed by the repair station, coordinating closely with Crew Chiefs and maintenance technicians.

Ensure all inspection activity is performed in full compliance with applicable FARs, manufacturer specifications, and FAA-approved data, immediately reporting any unsafe conditions or discrepancies to the Chief Inspector.

Oversee proper execution of FAA Form 337 when applicable, and ensure required technical data remains current and accessible for all overhauled or repaired articles.
Documentation and Records Management

Complete inspection records, reports, and forms with accuracy and thoroughness before any product is returned to service, maintaining documentation integrity across all inspection activities.

Maintain detailed records of inspections, work orders, and maintenance documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements and company procedures.

Verify that maintenance documentation produced by technicians is accurate, complete, and compliant with airworthiness standards prior to sign-off.

Ensure proper tagging and identification of all parts and components as outlined in company procedures, including red-tagging and segregation of rejected or unserviceable parts.

Support the Chief Inspector in maintaining the inspection department’s library of current FARs, Type Certification Data Sheets, Airworthiness Directives, and relevant technical data.
Parts Acceptance and Material Integrity

Perform final acceptance of all incoming materials, including parts, components, and hardware, verifying airworthiness standards are met before items enter the serviceable inventory.

Ensure rejected or unserviceable parts are clearly identified, red-tagged, and properly segregated from serviceable items in accordance with company and FAA requirements.

When applicable, ensure that rejected parts are permanently marked as unairworthy and handled appropriately to prevent inadvertent return to service.

Coordinate with the Parts Department and Crew Chiefs to resolve discrepancies in incoming materials and ensure replacement parts meet applicable airworthiness standards.

Support the Chief Inspector in monitoring tooling and calibrated equipment used during inspections, ensuring calibration records are current and any out-of-tolerance items are removed from service.
Cross-Functional Collaboration and Technical Support

Partner with Crew Chiefs, maintenance technicians, and leadership to ensure inspections are integrated efficiently into workflow without disrupting operational timelines.

Provide continuity of inspection responsibilities during shift changes and personnel transitions to ensure no inspection gap occurs in active maintenance processes.

Support technicians in identifying and resolving quality or safety issues discovered during inspections, communicating findings clearly and constructively.

Inspect avionics work requiring A&P qualifications, including airframe structural modifications, electrical wiring installations, and weight and balance changes when applicable.

Contribute to a culture of Safety First by modeling rigorous inspection standards, sharing knowledge with maintenance Team Members, and reinforcing the importance of doing things right the first time.
Continuous Improvement and Organizational Contribution

Actively participate in EOS rhythms including team meetings, quarterly reviews, and performance discussions, contributing inspection-related insights and process improvement recommendations.

Identify opportunities to improve inspection workflows, documentation practices, and quality assurance processes in alignment with repair station standards and company growth.

Support the Chief Inspector in ensuring repair station manuals are current, initiating or contributing to revisions as regulatory updates or operational changes require.

Maintain current knowledge of FAA regulatory changes, Airworthiness Directives, and evolving manufacturer guidance relevant to aircraft types serviced by Jet Access.

The Skills You Carry In

FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certificate required

Minimum 5 years of aircraft maintenance experience, with at least 2 years in an inspection-related or inspector-authorized role

Strong working knowledge of FAA regulations, 14 CFR Part 65, Type Certification Data Sheets, Airworthiness Directives, and FAR 145 Repair Station requirements

Proficiency in reading and interpreting aircraft technical manuals, maintenance drawings, and airworthiness documentation

Demonstrated ability to independently evaluate work quality, identify discrepancies, and make return-to-service determinations within the scope of repair station authority

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with meticulous attention to detail in documentation

What the Days Look Like

Standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

On-call or evening and weekend hours may be required during active maintenance periods to ensure inspection coverage

Work is performed primarily in hangar and shop environments, with continuous coordination across Crew Chiefs, technicians, and the Chief Inspector throughout the day

Attendance at L10 meetings and EOS rhythms as applicable to the maintenance department

Strong follow-through and workload discipline are expected to ensure no inspection gaps occur in active maintenance workflows
What Sets You Apart

Inspection Authorization (IA) currently held

Experience in FAR 145 Repair Station environments with exposure to Part 135 or Part 91 operations

Familiarity with multiple aircraft types and systems across turbine and piston platforms in corporate or business aviation

Experience with computerized maintenance tracking systems and electronic documentation platforms

Background in quality assurance, quality control, or continuous improvement methodologies in an aviation maintenance setting
