Join the Boise Airport team and play a key role in keeping our technology systems running smoothly and securely. In this position, you’ll lead the overall management of the airport’s IT environment, providing expert-level support while ensuring the right tools, systems, and resources are in place for success.
You’ll stay ahead of the curve by identifying industry best practices and driving innovation and improvements across airport operations. As the primary liaison between the Boise Airport and the City’s IT department, you’ll help guide important technology projects including those that support critical systems required by the TSA and FAA.

Establishes long and short-term goals and objectives for the development, implementation and maintenance of the airport’s technology systems. Supports all technology that is unique to the airport environment.
Reviews and analyzes federal, state and local laws, regulations and ordinances for applicability to and effect on airport operational and administrative issues.
Researches and recommends future hardware and software additions and enhancements. Provides daily and ongoing maintenance of systems with the ability to troubleshoot technical security-related hardware, software and/or mechanical issues with security systems and ensure repairs are performed.
Provides information to management on trends and technologies in the airport industry. Provides expert advice to various levels of management to assist in identifying, screening and selecting vendors, third-party contractors and hardware/software solutions, working with City of Boise IT. Serves as the liaison between the airport and City of Boise IT, facilitating effective communication and collaboration.
Manages moderate to complex IT projects for the airport. Creates business cases for projects, feasibility studies, root cause analyses, test cases and scenarios from defined requirements.
Drafts Requests for Quotes (RFQ) and Requests for Proposals (RFP), and manages the demonstration and selection process through final selection.
Coordinates and reviews day-to-day work of third-party security contractors and the City of Boise IT Department that implements technology solutions and ensures work product is performed according to contract.
Conducts audits of security systems to ensure compliance with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) requirements, presenting findings to the Airport Security Coordinator (ASC).
Identifies, defines and develops grant applications or other funding sources to support existing and planned program activities as well as coordinating the development, writing and submission of grant proposals to the Federal Government.
Provides input in planning the annual department budget as it relates to airport related technology.

Additional Required Knowledge, Experience, And Training
Knowledge of:; the principles and practices of public-use airport business practices operations, security and associated terminology; pertinent federal laws, codes and regulations relating to airport operations; principles, installation and configuration of enterprise physical security systems and security systems technical support; security software applications, access control processors, cameras and associated software, digital video storage, monitors and control panel equipment; business analysis; principles and practices of project management; budgeting and grant writing processes and procedures; and network, server and cabling/fiber optic infrastructure, database support, desktop personal computers and peripherals.
Ability to:; apply project management and business analysis methods and practices; analyze technical information regarding airport security usage and maintenance; plan, organize and direct vendors and third-party contractors working in airport security and operations; communicate effectively in the English language at a level necessary for efficient job performance; and perform all essential and marginal functions as assigned by an authorized employee, supervisor and/or manager with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Physical Efforts
While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently lifting/carrying up to 10 pounds and occasionally lifting/carrying up to 20 pounds. Also, the employee is occasionally pushing/pulling up to 20 pounds. The noise level is occasionally moderate. Work includes sensory ability to talk, hear and touch. Work in this position also includes close vision and distance vision. Employees will sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach and grasp. Position requires hand/finger dexterity.
Working Environment
The work environment will include inside conditions, outdoor weather conditions, areas of dust, odors, mist and gases or other airborne matter. Employees are exposed to mechanical and electrical hazards and work in/at heights. Employees will also drive a vehicle as part of this position.
