Airport Trainer

Department: Operations / Training Reports To: Director of Operations or Training Manager

Position Summary

The Airport Trainer is responsible for developing, coordinating, and delivering training programs for personnel working in airport operational environments. This role ensures employees are properly trained in safety procedures, operational protocols, equipment operation, and regulatory compliance requirements. The Airport Trainer supports workforce readiness by preparing employees to perform effectively in high-risk, time-sensitive aviation environments.

Key Skills:

· Microsoft suite including but not limited to: Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Outlook, Power Automate, Microsoft 365

· Foxit PDF Reader or Adobe PDF

· Strong computer skills

· High organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities

· Develop and deliver training programs for airport operations personnel.

· Conduct classroom and field-based training sessions covering safety procedures, operational protocols, and equipment operation.

· Train employees on airport-specific rules, airfield driving procedures, and safety standards.

· Evaluate trainee performance and provide feedback to ensure competency and readiness.

· Maintain training records and documentation to ensure regulatory and contract compliance.

· Coordinate training schedules with operations leadership to support staffing needs.

· Assist with onboarding and orientation for new employees.

· Ensure training programs meet applicable regulatory standards and airport authority requirements.

· Participate in the development and improvement of training materials and standard operating procedures.

· Support operational readiness during major weather events or operational surges.

Qualifications

· High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree highly preferred.

· Experience working in airport operations, aviation support services, or heavy equipment operations preferred.

· Previous training or instructional experience strongly preferred.

· Strong communication and presentation skills.

· Ability to instruct both classroom and hands-on field training.

· Strong understanding of safety protocols and operational procedures.

· Ability to evaluate trainee performance and provide constructive feedback.

Preferred Skills

· Experience with airfield driving procedures.

· Experience training equipment operators or operational staff.

· Familiarity with aviation safety standards and airport authority requirements.

· Strong organizational and documentation skills.

Work Environment

· Combination of classroom, office, and outdoor operational environments.

· Training may occur in active airport operational areas.

· Schedule may include evenings, weekends, or on-call support during major operational events.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
