Concept
A full remodel and rebranding of the decade long lived late craft beer bar, Original Gravity Public House. The new business is a dual concept, with Still O.G. at the front bar (the name being a playful riff on its alma mater Original Gravity), featuring a full DJ set-up spinning vinyl and a bar serving up delicious draft cocktails, canned beers, shots and highballs. Alter Ego Cocktail Club is the dark and mysterious anti-hero bar tucked away in the back of the space behind curtains, which will feature an extensive creative cocktail menu in an intimate dimly lit lounge with seated service and swagger provided by the bartenders. A very creative and complimentary menu of small plates will also be available at both spaces.
Principal Duties
· Makes guest notes detailing: food allergy, special occasion, specific requests, etc. and inputs it onto each reservation through OpenTable.
· Retrieves phone messages, answers incoming calls, goes over reservations through Opentable, makes chits, organizes menus, makes seating charts, tidies up front area and everything the guest can see.
· Maintains an “on stage” mentality during service, and ensures guest experience is best it can be.
· Communicates to the rest of FOH and MOD detailing day’s spread (reservation and seating for the night), VIP, etc.
· Helps guests with their reservations and guides them to their table.
· Lays out seating arrangements for reservations and walk-ins throughout shift. Able to determine who is being seated where.
· Has great social skills and welcoming personality to check in parties for Alter Ego.
· Always aware of people entering or exiting the establishment. Making sure guests are greeted when coming in and thanked for visiting when they leave.
· Has good time management. Constantly keeping up with OpenTable during shift and marking off tables that are seated and opening up tables that have left.
· Knowledgeable about the program at Alter Ego and Still OG to answer guests’ questions. Also making sure guests from Still OG are not wandering into the other side without checking in.
· Able to adapt to stressful situations when it gets busy and maintains a polite, cheerful, and calm demeanor and is professional at all times.
· Attention to detail, maintains a clean workstation and environment.
Experience Required
Will train the right candidate, no service experience required.
Certification Required
ServSafe Certificate, eFoodHandlers Card, or equivalent.
