Purpose
Create and coordinate employer and alumni engagement opportunities for students in the College of Liberal Arts at UT Austin. Research, identify, and connect with alumni for future collaborations and partnerships. This position, which plays a crucial role in the College of Liberal Arts, reports directly to the Director of Employer Relations. This is a three-year fixed-term position.
Responsibilities
  • Enhance Alumni Engagement Programming: Foster meaningful opportunities for alumni to connect with the college through various pathways. Provide support for programming that supports undergraduate students in the College of Liberal Arts. Develop a culture of alumni engagement with the 12twenty Platform, a tool designed to facilitate alumni engagement and track valuable insights and information. Be mindful of connections and share alumni connections with Liberal Arts Career Services colleagues for future speaker opportunities. Research and identify alumni connections via LinkedIn.
  • Track Outcome Data Assessment: Assess Career Service outcomes using the 12twenty Platform; liaise with the Texas Career Success team, and track progress toward the university's Knowledge Rate and Career Outcomes Rate. As a member of the Employer Relations team, develop strategies to increase alumni engagement, as measured by the first destination survey.
  • Build Alumni Engagement Operations: Collaborate with units across the College of Liberal Arts, including Development, Public Affairs, and Student Affairs, to assess program needs, streamline processes, and refine workflows that enable Liberal Arts students to connect with alumni. Develop effective communication and marketing strategies to increase alumni and student engagement and participation. Collaborate and support the Director of Employer Relations with building the strategy and marketing. Manage programming setup, logistics, and outcome recaps.
  • Contribute Administrative and Team Support: Represent Liberal Arts Career Services in on-campus and off-campus meetings. Research and create career-related content for students, alumni, and employer collateral. Assist career services staff with office events, including career fairs, and contribute to the success of the team as a collaborative partner. Attend weekly staff and professional development meetings, and perform other related duties as assigned on a unique team within a larger team.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years of experience administering or coordinating a program.
  • Demonstrated success in relationship building and establishing connections with internal and external contacts that resulted in positive business outcomes.
  • Previous experience creating/establishing a new program or system that produced positive business results.
  • Demonstrated ability to execute an event from planning and set up to event-running, troubleshooting, and post-event breakdown.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data to make informed and effective business recommendations and decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with ambiguous projects, ability to build the road map without the training manual
  • Demonstrated high level of proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree.
  • Experience supporting employer or alumni engagement in a higher education context.
  • Familiarity with UT Austin systems, career services platforms (e.g., 12twenty, Symplicity, Handshake), and cloud-based tools like Airtable or Canvas.
Salary Range
$60,000 + depending on qualifications

Employment Eligibility:

Retirement Plan Eligibility:
The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
