Ambulatory Device Tech

We are seeking an experienced Ambulatory Device Technician to support cardiac electrophysiology and device management operations in a fast-paced outpatient cardiology environment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with pacemaker and ICD interrogation/programming, strong technical knowledge of electrophysiology procedures, and familiarity with MRI safety and device compatibility protocols. This role requires excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with physicians, clinical staff, patients, and families to provide high-quality cardiac care.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform pacemaker and ICD interrogation, programming, and troubleshooting.
  • Support electrophysiology (EP) evaluations and studies within ambulatory and procedural settings.
  • Assist with cardiac device monitoring and patient follow-up care.
  • Maintain and operate electrophysiology and MRI-related equipment according to safety standards and protocols.
  • Document patient information, device data, and charge entries accurately within EMR systems.
  • Collaborate with electrophysiologists, cardiologists, nurses, and clinical teams to support patient care.
  • Educate patients, families, and staff regarding cardiac devices, electrophysiology monitoring, and procedures.
  • Ensure proper equipment maintenance and report technical concerns as needed.
  • Adhere to patient safety, infection control, and MRI safety procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records and comply with departmental and regulatory standards.


Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Completion of an accredited program in Cardiac Electrophysiology Technology or equivalent education/experience preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of healthcare experience required.
  • Experience with pacemaker and ICD interrogation and programming required.
  • Experience in cardiology and electrophysiology preferred.
  • Current ACLS certification required.
  • Current BLS certification required.
  • Current PALS certification required.
  • Strong computer literacy and EMR documentation skills required.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills required.
  • Ability to educate patients, families, and healthcare staff regarding electrophysiological monitoring preferred.


Important Details:

  • 28-week contract position (extensions available)
  • Shift is 8-hour day (Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM), 40 hrs/week
  • Location is New York, NY 10032
  • Pay Range for Locals: $45 - $49 per hour
  • Pay Range for Travelers: $2,150 - $2,200 per week
