Location: Gardena / Torrance, CA (In-Person or Online)

Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and engaging Sign Language Instructor (ASL) to teach children from Kindergarten through middle school during our summer program. The ideal candidate loves working with children and can make learning American Sign Language fun, interactive, and meaningful.

Responsibilities

• Teach introductory American Sign Language (ASL) to small groups of children
• Plan and lead interactive, age-appropriate lessons and activities
• Incorporate games, songs, and visual learning strategies
• Create a positive, encouraging classroom environment
• Adapt teaching methods for different age groups and learning levels
• Communicate effectively with staff and parents when needed

Qualifications

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Experience working with children (teaching, tutoring, camps, or similar)
• Strong communication and classroom management skills
• Energetic, patient, and creative personality
• Background in education, child development, or related field (preferred)

Schedule & Details

• Summer program (June – August, flexible based on availability)
• Part-time hours (morning and/or afternoon sessions)
• Small class sizes for more personalized teaching
