Anaesthesiologist - NAURU DEPLOYMENT

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Anesthesiologist to join our healthcare team on Nauru Island. The successful candidate will provide safe and effective anesthesia services for surgical, obstetric, and emergency procedures, as well as pain management and critical care support.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer anesthesia and monitor patients during surgical and medical procedures.
• Assess patients pre-operatively and develop individualized anesthesia plans.
• Manage post-anesthesia recovery and pain relief.
• Provide anesthesia services for general surgery, obstetrics, trauma, and emergency cases.
• Work collaboratively with surgeons, obstetricians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe and efficient patient care.
• Participate in critical care management and resuscitation when required.
• Ensure proper maintenance, calibration, and use of anesthesia and monitoring equipment.
• Maintain detailed medical documentation and ensure adherence to safety and infection control standards.
• Train and mentor local medical and nursing staff to strengthen anesthesia and perioperative care capacity.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Medical degree (MD or equivalent) with recognized specialization in Anesthesiology.
• Valid medical license OR eligibility.
• Minimum 3–5 years of post-specialization experience in anesthesia practice.
• Competence in general, regional, and emergency anesthesia techniques.
• Strong decision-making, crisis management, and patient safety focus.
• Cultural sensitivity and adaptability to work in a small island healthcare environment.
