Role Description
At Ahya, your responsibilities will include supporting the
Climate Science
(CS) team in conducting GHG accounting, reporting, and reduction efforts. Additionally, you will contribute to enhancing Ahya's core product,
AhyaOS
- a carbon management and accounting platform (CMAP) - by collaborating closely with the product and engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities

Provide technical assistance in GHG accounting (scope 1, 2 and 3) and sustainability reporting;

Apply knowledge of GHG accounting methodologies, standards, and reporting frameworks such as GHG Protocol, Global Reporting Initiative Standards (GRI), Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB), Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi), Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), IFRS S1 and IFRS S2;

Develop tailored sustainability strategies and net-zero transition plans for various clients that align with their goals and regulatory requirements;

Support financial institutions to comply with SBP’s Green Banking Guidelines and ensure green banking and credit policies align with financial regulations and internal processes;

Build data visualizations to communicate environmental impacts and future emission forecasting;

Research and communicate key emerging information and trends relating to GHG accounting, climate change policy and carbon markets;
Requirements
-
Minimum bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, Economics or similar discipline;
-
Prior work experience in sustainability consulting, sustainability departments, or technology start-ups in climate, sustainability or development sectors;

Extensive knowledge of GHG protocol accounting methodologies including Partnership for Carbon Accounting Financials (PCAF) guidelines;
-
Understanding of key reporting methodologies including GHG Protocol, SBTi, IFRS S-1, IFRS S-2, GRI, and CSRD;

General understanding of global and national climate frameworks including the Paris Agreement, Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), UAE Federal Law No 11 of 2024, Saudi Vision 2030 et al.

Experience in calculating GHG inventories across all scopes and reporting on the various aforementioned standards;

Excellent quantitative and analytical skills which include climate modelling and advanced Excel;

Have an understanding of State Bank of Pakistan’s Green Banking Guidelines and Environmental & Social Risk Management (ESRM) Implementation Manual for Financial Institutions;

Strong research, design and presentation skills;

Time management and organizational skills, including prioritizing and effectively managing multiple tasks and assignments with competing demands.
