Analyst, Commodity Operations

Overview:

Job Purpose

The Soft Commodities team at ICE Futures U.S. is responsible for the operations and development of the Coffee C, Cocoa, Sugar 11 and 16, Cotton, FCOJ and Canola contracts and products. The team ensures that the certification, storage, and transfer of commodities for the contracts are processed in accordance with Exchange Rules, and work with market participants, internal stakeholders, and regulators to maintain and develop the terms of those contracts. As a member of the team, you will be involved in all aspects of operations and product development and be expected to contribute wherever necessary.


Responsibilities

  • Contribute effectively to all aspects of the operations of the ICE Futures U.S. Soft.
  • Commodity contracts delivery processes.
  • Manage client enquiries; identify, manage, and build customer relationships.
  • Manage administrative tasks including maintenance and development of the proprietary system for inventory, warehousekeeping and delivery management.
  • Assist in managing the grading process for Coffee and Cocoa products.
  • Assist in managing the physical delivery process for all products covered; engage with other ICE functions to ensure orderly deliveries.
  • Visit/inspect/audit commodity warehouses when required (U.S. and European locations).
  • Assist in managing the licensing process for warehouses, graders, and samplers.
  • Undertake project work as and when required.


Knowledge and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience with soft commodities and/or futures markets preferred.
  • Experience in Coffee, Cocoa, Sugar, Cotton, Canola or FCOJ would be an advantage.
  • Excellent communication and team working skills.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft packages, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of eCOPS, Electronic Commodity Operations Processing System a strong plus but not required.
  • Strong analytical, organizational skills, and multi-tasking skills with acute attention to detail.
  • Position will involve some travel and work outside of normal business hours.
  • Strong team-player and good communicator.


New York Base Salary Range

The expected base salary for this role, if located in New York, is between $81,600 – 106,500 USD. The base salary range does not include Intercontinental Exchange’s incentive compensation. While we provide this range as general guidance, at ICE we compensate employees based on the skillset and experience of the individual. Regular full-time ICE employees are eligible for a suite of competitive employee benefits, including healthcare coverage (medical, dental and vision), a 401(k) plan, life insurance, time off, and paid leave for qualifying circumstances.
