Introduction:

The Outreach and Research Programme of the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health has ten community-based field sites across Pakistan (including four in Karachi) and focuses on research for betterment of women and child health. The Department has a Nutritional Research Laboratory as well as an Infectious Disease Research Laboratory that cater to the needs of its research projects. It has well-acclaimed work to its credit both at the national and international level.

Job Role / Responsibilities:
We are seeking an Analyst to join our Data Management Unit. The role involves ensuring quality control and assurance of data for assigned projects and serving as the primary contact for all data management-related issues. You will be expected to:
  • prepare and modify documents required for data analysis
  • write scripts/programs using statistical software to identify errors and perform data cleaning
  • ensure compliance with GCP and 21 CFR part 11
  • participate in computer system validation activities
  • prepare descriptive statistics and visualizations for projects
  • support preparation of data presentations and publication of research results
  • assist in preparing and disseminating periodic progress reports and removing bottlenecks
  • provide support in statistical workshops and seminars
  • maintain close liaison with project supervisors and staff.

Requirements:
You should have:
  • master’s degree in statistics, biostatistics, or computer science
  • 2 to 3 years of relevant experience, preferably in research
  • good interpersonal and communication skills
  • strong analytical, qualitative, and written skills
  • proficiency in STATA, SPSS, R, and SQL query language
  • understanding of clinical trial workflows, data cleaning, and validation
  • ability to manage multiple studies and deadlines.
