Function Overview


GIC Sales Strategy & Intelligence team partners with our global General Mills sales teams in providing them with analytical horsepower and enable business continuity so they can focus on core activities – Selling, driving distribution gains, and optimizing merchandising plans to deliver sales volume targets. We enable customer, pricing & promotion strategies across the global markets through our focused capabilities of Sales Execution, Trade & Strategic Revenue Management and Category Management. Teams within function are aligned to the above focused capabilities for each of our markets and each team member specializes in domains of Advanced Analytics, Visual Insights & Planogramming.

Role Overview


As a Senior Analyst on the Sales & Commercial Capabilities team, you will be a key driver of growth for General Mills, partnering with Sales, Trade Strategy, Category and Strategic Revenue Management (SRM) teams across US and international markets. This highly collaborative role requires strong analytical skills, and the ability to translate data into actionable strategies. You will work closely with business partners to optimize volume, pricing, product mix, trade promotions, and assortment strategies, contributing to the development and implementation of innovative solutions that lead to growth. Success in this role demands a strategic mindset, strong execution capabilities, and a proven ability to influence cross-functional teams.

  • Translate business needs into executable plans by designing, building and implementing analytical solutions
  • Fluently leverage the Panel, POS and Syndicated data to understand data-trends and proactively identify opportunities for business improvements within given market/customer/category
  • Assess trends and market performance, providing analysis of executional performance, evaluating market conditions, and summarizing with proposed solutions and actions.
  • Provide business solutions to customer/trade strategy, category and SRM activities with a concise recap of data and information to form an opinion of business conditions
  • Demonstrate effective stakeholder management to deliver output to the customer in a storytelling format (What, So What & Now What)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS


Experience

Min. years of related experience required:


4-6 years of relevant Business Reporting, Analytics & Visualization experience in CPG (or related) industry, Data Modelling preferred


Preferred years of related experience:


5-6 years of Business Reporting, Analytics & Visualization experience, Data Modelling preferred within CPG industry


  • Education – Full time Masters or equivalent from an accredited university (Mandatory- Note: This is the minimum education criteria which cannot be altered)
  • Strong command over oral and written English
  • Multitasking ability - work on a host of tools/databases and software/platforms effectively to manifest superior results.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS


  • Data Insights & Analysis Expertise: Proficient in syndicated data sources like Nielsen, IRI, etc
  • FMCG/CPG Experience: US & International market knowledge in Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Revenue Management.
  • Revenue Management Skills: Prior experience preferred
  • Communication & Influence: Strong selling and communication skills
  • Problem-Solving & Innovation: Ability to manage ambiguity, take initiative, and leverage technology.
  • Leads Innovation: Tech & Data Savvy
